We have been blessed with the opportunity to work with CheySa'mone! Here is our interview with them where we got to know them better!
Tell us about yourself! What should people know about you?
My name is Cheyanne Sa’mone, also known as CheySa’mone, and I am singer-songwriter based in Los Angeles that specializes in R&B/Soul. I’ve been singing and performing since I was ten years old. I am now taking a chance with my own original work. Also, I love to collaborate with my fellow artists and show as much support as I possibly can.
How long have you been making music and what or who inspired you to do so?
Music has been apart of my life since childhood! I’d like to think that I got my voice from my mother who used to sing to me every chance she got. I used to mainly do covers, but now in recent years I’ve taken a chance on my own music and sound. My inspiration for pursuing this passion first and foremost are my babies! I want to show them that anything can be achieved as long as there is a clear vision and hard work to match, my family & friends, and all the other successful artists walking the same path I am. Everyone has been really positive and receptive. That’s the best feeling in the world, and keeps me focused on delivering the best version of myself every time.
We are aware not everyone makes music the same. What is your creative process like?
I create and write in seasons. Sometimes I can wake up and just be hit with inspiration that can last anywhere from a couple weeks to a couple months. When I’m in my zone it doesn’t take long at all to pen something down. For example, When it came to my single “Holy Water” I was so inspired when I heard the beat I wrote it in ten minutes while out and about running errands. I have to feel the music and when I close my eyes I need to be able to visualize what I’m saying. When it’s time to lay it down I like being alone in my room with just me and my music so I can get as lost in it as I need to. Music and its process is therapeutic to me.
Is there any advice you would give to upcoming artists?
The best advice I would give to any upcoming artists, or to any artists in general trying to make a living with this, is to dedicate just as much time if not more into understanding the business aspect of this career choice. Being creative just a half to a whole, and without that other piece you may find yourself lost or taken advantage. I feel like no matter what it is you purse you need to be knowledgeable in all aspects of it. Also, make sure to build a reliable network of people you can trust and depend on. Don’t be afraid to bet on yourself and walk in your purpose.
Who would you say is the best artist of all time?
The best artist of all time for me will forever be Michael Jackson. His work ethic is inspirational and the impact he had on this world is still being felt to this day. He was and is a true testament on what a well rounded artist looks like. From his work in studio to his stage performances, He gave his all everything single time. He left his mark and I feel as artists that’s the ultimate goal.
