We have been blessed with the opportunity to work with CJ The Hitta! Here is our interview with them where we got to know them better!
Tell us about yourself! What should people know about you?
My name is CJ The Hitta. I was born and raised in Los Angeles California. From a young age I have always been into the arts. I started singing, dancing, and acting at ten years old. My mom had me in the church choir and my dad is one of LA’s hottest DJs. Music has always been apart of my life and has made me who I am today.
How long have you been making music and what or who inspired you to do so?
I have been making music since I was fourteen years old and honestly me being in the arts at young age made me want to give music a shot. I released my first song “Focused” on SoundCloud when I was in the 10th grade. My biggest inspirations in music are Lil Wayne and Kendrick Lamar. There are many others but those are my top two for sure.
We are aware not everyone makes music the same. What is your creative process like?
I treat music just how I treat my other talents which is to just have fun with it. When God has called you to do something it honestly just comes natural. I never have a hard time creating the music but perfecting the way I want it to be is a different story. I like to always give out the best of whatever it is that I am doing. If you see my name on it, it’s always gone hit.
Is there any advice you would give to upcoming artists?
I would say is never give up and keep God first! Also, make sure you are doing the things you need to do for not only yourself, but for your artistry as well. Take care of your mental health and also get training on whatever is you want to do whether that’s singing, dancing, acting, or whatever. All of it takes time and practice.
Who would you say is the best artist of all time?
I'd say the best artist of all time is Michael Jackson. Although I always say Lil Wayne is the best rapper of all time, when it comes down to timeless music and performance we have to give it to Michael. I don’t think anybody in the world would argue me on that.
