We have been blessed with the opportunity to work with Jimmy Frizzell! Here is our interview with them where we got to know them better!
Tell us about yourself! What should people know about you?
Hey, I'm Jimmy Frizzell Aka Frizz. A combat veteran rapper originally from Michigan. Music has always been an outlet for me. When you listen to the songs I create, though sometimes dark, there's a deep truth to the story.
How long have you been making music and what or who inspired you to do so?
I've been making music for about fifteen years. I started creating early in my Marine careers, but it wasn't until I came back from my deployment to Afghanistan where I really started to write.
We are aware not everyone makes music the same. What is your creative process like?
My creative process is somewhat multi-dimensional. The best analogy I got for you is I’m like a sponge. Constantly absorbing the life that surrounds me, then squeezing it out onto a sheet of music while, through spirituality, continually striving for authenticity. I attempt to create from a pure sense of identity, with the intentions of formulating a work that is a direct reflection of self.
Is there any advice you would give to upcoming artists?
Do your thing and don’t let anyone tell you different. Always come from a place of love, and give when you can.
Who would you say is the best artist of all time?
I have to go with Mac Miller. He’s the one that brought me from the pop genre to the rap scene. Always sensed he spoke from his truth and I admired that. His flows are nice too.
