We have been blessed with the opportunity to work with Katrell The Phenomenal! Here is our interview with them where we got to know them better!
Tell us about yourself! What should people know about you?
I'm KP, a passionate artist driven by a desire to create music that resonates with people. I am deeply committed to my craft, constantly evolving my sound and pushing boundaries. Beyond the music, I'm a storyteller, using my lyrics to share my experiences and connect with my audience on a personal level. I truly believe in the power of music to inspire, heal, and uplift, and I strive to create work that does just that. I currently am working with TruBrilliance Entertainment (Germany), Pairamilitary Music Group & Abridge Ent in Hollywood.
How long have you been making music and what or who inspired you to do so?
My journey into music started at a young age. My mother is a band director, music teacher by profession; my inspiration and introduction to REAL MUSIC. I've been writing and performing since I was a kid, but it wasn't until my teenage years that I realized I wanted to pursue it seriously. A blend of influences, my MotherGoddess, from legendary soul singers to contemporary hip-hop artists, ignited my passion. Their ability to craft stories and emotions through music was incredibly inspiring and motivated me to express myself through my own artistry.
We are aware not everyone makes music the same. What is your creative process like?
My creative process is an organic journey. It often begins with a feeling or an experience that I want to capture. I spend time reflecting on these emotions, and then I start to build the musical foundation. Sometimes, a melody or a rhythm will come to me first, and the lyrics will follow. Other times, the lyrics are the starting point. I believe in the importance of experimentation, so I'm always open to trying new sounds and approaches.
Is there any advice you would give to upcoming artists?
For aspiring artists, I would say to stay true to yourself and your vision. The music industry can be challenging, but it's important to maintain your authenticity. Practice consistently, seek feedback, and surround yourself with supportive people. Most importantly, enjoy the process and never stop learning and growing as an artist.
Who would you say is the best artist of all time?
Currently, has to be Ms. Patti LaBelle - the longevity, consistency, immaculate talent/professionalism and influence. As well as still going strong, has a solid immovable core fanbase - she is my choice today, would say. That's a really tough question, as there are countless incredible artists across various genres and eras. However, if I had to choose, I'd give a shoutout to all the local talents in every community - not giving up. Keep striving. Most definitely can not forget to shout out to the Family; Caddypack, Roman Royel, Taymarion, Took4Granted, Ayo Q, St. Diego - they're making waves and representing their respective cities in a big way. Their unique styles and contributions to the music scene are truly inspiring. It's exciting to see such talented artists emerging and having the opportunity to work and grow with them.
