Meet Quintin Tyevon

We have been blessed with the opportunity to work with Quintin Tyevon! Here is our interview with them where we got to know them better!

Tell us about yourself! What should people know about you?

I hail from the city of Tallahassee, Florida and representing the collective of UnderclassXIX (Underclass’19). I began creating music as a form of therapy in order to better understand myself. These days I create music in order to bring people and communities together because we all share similar emotions and may just not have the right words to articulate things. I grew up on hip-hop and think it’s important to recognize the challenges we face right now attempting to usher in a new generation of artist that people can love. I aim just be the artist you can’t live without!

How long have you been making music and what or who inspired you to do so?

I’ve been making music since the age of 9. I was inspired to do music because it’s its own language and the vibrations we feel from amazing records are no coincidence. As a pure lover of music I aim to recreate and evoke the same emotions that the greats would tap into that gave us the soundtrack to our lives. Music just called me and I happened to answer at the right time.

We are aware not everyone makes music the same. What is your creative process like?

My creative process varies depending on my mood. Overall the main focus of all records would be feeling first in order to make sure that the records are engaging. Once I am able to capture the feeling, I decide how to approach the record because every record doesn’t require the same recipe. Some require “bars” and others require just a nice flow to ride the beat. I also love to add the element of story telling without the music so people can understand they aren’t alone!

Is there any advice you would give to upcoming artists?

My advice to upcoming artist would be to stick to your guns! There will be a lot of times where you doubt yourself because you get a lot of no’s when the reality is god is just molding you for something greater! Anytime that you’re looking to be a trailblazer you must understand while you’re blazing the trail in front of you, you’re burning down all of the gates, stereotypes and opinions of those behind you as you slowly become who you’re meant to be and reach the people who are meant to hear your message. The world needs to hear your story! Pain has a purpose, find yours! We’re waiting for you!

Who would you say is the best artist of all time?

I don’t have a best artist of all time. As a music lover and someone who respects this thing that God blessed us with there are way too many artist that I love and respect to narrow it down to a number. I understand that being number 1 is important for a lot artist because that’s the narrative we push as a masses but when you focus on your community and really build up the world to be something you wish to see, people will sing your praises of being the best of all time because of the impact you’ve made on their lives! There are too many greats to name just one and I am to be the next!

Where can people find you on social media?
