We have been blessed with the opportunity to work with Trapheauxly! Here is our interview with them where we got to know them better!
Tell us about yourself! What should people know about you?
I am a poet, musician, theologian, and activist born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. My grandfather, the late Otis Redding, taught me to sing as a child. Coincidentally, my first solo was My Girl by the Temptations. In that way, I’ve always carried a blessing and proclivity towards music.
How long have you been making music and what or who inspired you to do so?
I first started recording around age eight for theatrical productions I starred in. My earliest memory of songwriting dates back to 2010 when I carried my song book around with me like an extra appendage. I have been inspired by my Pop from the very start. Growing up being close with my grandparents, I spent a lot of time with them in Birmingham. It was a frequent occurrence to hear my grandfather’s legendary high notes ricocheting off walls and settling into your spirit like a touch from the Divine.
We are aware not everyone makes music the same. What is your creative process like?
My creative process is adaptable and fluid. I feel as though my best flows come from freestyling, while my most polished work is written beforehand. I like to write my lyrics first then shop different beats, adjusting the flow to each, until I find my favorite. As far as recording, I self record my demos and record professionally for my releases.
Is there any advice you would give to upcoming artists?
The most revolutionary act is authenticity. When we refuse to compromise our integrity and trust in the Divine (whatever form that may take for you), we are rewarded richly in Spirit. As above, so below. When your cup overflows from the Divine, there may be a moment before you see the direct manifestations in the physical realm, but that’s the test. Believe unrelentingly and receive unprecedentedly.
Who would you say is the best artist of all time?
I think I’m heavily biased however I would have to say Otis Redding in terms of his song writing and vocal performance. As far as more modern artists, I believe that Jazmine Sullivan has one of the most beautiful, timeless voices in existence. I am also a huge fan of her pen game and legendary runs.
Where can people find you on social media?
